Decorating for Halloween can often come with a high price tag. However, there are so many household items and cheap craft supplies that will turn your front porch into a Halloween Tale worthy display. People have been using their imagination to create homemade Halloween Decorations forever. Luckily people love to share their creations. Here are just a few Halloween Decorations to transform your home.

To make these Spooky Tombstones you will need the following:

  • One Large Dry Floral Styrofoam Sheet
  • A serrated Bread Knife
  • Permanent Marker
  • Black Spray Paint
  • Dark Gray and White Acrylic Paint
  • 1 Brush
  • 2 Bamboo Spikes

To start you will want to draw the outline of the Tombstone on the Styrofoam Sheet with the Marker and cut the foam with the Serrated knife to shape. Then you will draw a design on the newly cut Tombstone such as RIP or a design. After the design or words are etched into the Tombstone you will then want to use the black spray paint to cover the entire Tombstone. Starting to look like an actual Tombstone right? The last thing you are going to want to do is to apply a thin layer of the Dark Gray Acrylic, let it dry then follow it with the White Acrylic. You want to make sure to do a thin layer of both of these paints. This will give it a stone textured look. Now just put the bamboo spikes in the bottom and stick it out in your yard!

Eyeball Wreaths

To make these creepy Eyeball Wreaths you will need the following:

  • 1 18 inch wreath form
  • White Ribbon
  • Wire
  • Around 250 Ping Pong Balls
  • 2 Packages of googly eyes, about 100
  • Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun

To start you will wrap your Wreath Form with the Ribbon covering the foam completely. Once this is done make sure to wrap the wire around the top of the wreath to make a hook to use to hang the wreath. You don’t want to forget to do this before you start putting the eyes on. Once that is completed you can begin gluing the ping pong balls to the wreath. You will want to cover the foam completely in the balls. Be generous! Now that you have a Ping-Pong wreath you can start gluing the googly eyes to the exposed ping pong balls. Make sure to get as many ping pong balls as possible, the more the creepier! Now you have an Eyeball wreath, feel something watching you?

To make these spooky window silhouettes you will need the following:

  • Black Poster Paper
  • Spooky Stencils
  • Scissors
  • Tape

Creating these spooky silhouettes is as easy as printing or buying stencils of what you want on your windows. Let’s use a black cat as an example. Once you have the black cat stencil tape it on your Black Poster Paper and cut along the stencil. Now that you have cut out your spooky feline he is ready to be taped to your window. This quick and easy decoration may send shivers down the spines of people walking by your house.

Mummy Door

To make this leery mummy you will need the following:

  • White Paper Streamers
  • White Poster Paper
  • Black Poster Paper
  • Tape

Mummifying your door can be done to your outside door or any of your inside doors. All you need to do to make this simple yet spooky decoration is wrap your door from top to bottom in the white paper streamers. Once your door is wrapped to your liking you can start on the eyes for the Mummy. To do this all you need to do is cut a large circle from the white paper, followed by a smaller circle in the black paper. Put the black paper on top of the white paper and near the bottom to make it look like an eyeball. Once you are happy with your eye you can give your mummy sight!

Ghost Leaf Bags

To make these scary ghosts you will need the following:

  • White Trash Bags
  • Black Permanent Marker
  • Leaves

Don’t know what to do with all those leaves you just raked up? Why not make them into a decoration for the season. Filling white trash bags with your leaves can create a ghostly presence in your front lawn. All you need to do is fill the bags with the raked leaves and draw scary faces on the front of the bags giving your ghosts something to scare people with. Placing these next to the tombstones from earlier creates your own Halloween story in your yard.
